Nabarro is a leading international law firm with offices in London, Sheffield, Manchester, Brussels, Dubai and Singapore. The company has over 100 partners leading 300 lawyers focused on delivering practical, business-savvy advice.

From the most successful companies in the world to fast growth startups, Nabarro works with a diverse range of clients.

nabarro-logo.jpgNabarro has been a Spectrum Protect (TSM) user for over ten years and was one of Silverstring’s first customers. Over that time, the firm had acquired many more systems and was also moving to an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model, a cloud-based platform, resulting in an ever-increasing cost of running its data backup systems. This was due to the firm’s TSM licensing model, which at the time required it to pay for each server it backed up.

Looking for a more cost- and space-effective solution, Nabarro turned to Silverstring, its data backup solutions provider.

The Silverstring solution to Nabarro’s costly and complex licensing problem came in the form of a capacity-based licensing model, in which the firm would pay for backup storage per terabyte, regardless of how many servers they were backing up. Through Silverstring, Nabarro also purchased the clouodmanagement software Predatar.

Silverstring provided the firm with major upgrades to the hardware and software comprising its backup system, allowing it to take advantage of new features such as node replication.

“The ongoing support provided by Silverstring to our in-house backup team was very helpful,” says Paul Saunders, technical architecture manager “Essentially, it allowed them to ask about the best way to do things and our administrators could make the most costeffective use of our backup facilities.”
